Our client based in Central Ohio is a privately held, national real estate company that acquires, invests in, develops, and manages housing for people with developmental disabilities.  They are committed to helping transition people into community-based homes by providing housing solutions customized to both provider and resident needs.  Since 1999 they have been helping provider organizations of all sizes acquire and manage their real estate needs.  Because of rapid annual growth, they are poised to expand significantly over the next 5 years and are looking for a proven operations leader to help take them to the next level.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for managing all day to day operational aspects of the company. The COO provides strategic leadership for the company by working with the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides leadership and management to ensure that the organization is consistent with the mission and values.
  • Manages the day to day operations of the business
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Responsible for asset/portfolio management
  • Responsible for the acquisition and underwriting of real estate.
  • Oversees development, construction, repairs and maintenance in house and outsourced.
  • Motivates and leads a high-performance real estate team.
  • Provides supervisory oversight and personnel development planning to operations team
  • Collaborates with the Executive Management team to develop and implement plans for infrastructure development, and growth objectives of the company.
  • Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Responsible for driving the company to achieve profitability and business goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition, has the ability to make presentations to groups; is able to initiate a conversation with various resources by speaking clearly in positive or negative situations; and demonstrates effective listening skills, responding well to questions and inquires. Also, demonstrates excellent written communication skills.

Bachelor degree in Business or Human Service Management field with a minimum of 5 years at a senior management level.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of business software, Microsoft Office, etc.
